NHS weight loss medicines now available in South East London
Weight loss medicines Wegovy® and Mounjaro® are now available on the NHS in South East London for eligible patients.
Who Can Get Them?
You may qualify if you:
– Have a BMI of 40+ (or 37.5+ for certain ethnic groups) and 4+ weight-related conditions
OR
– Have a BMI of 35+ (or 32.5+) and at least 1 condition and need urgent weight loss for treatment (e.g. cancer, fertility, surgery).
How to access
You must be referred by your GP to a specialist weight loss service. These services offer medication alongside support for diet and activity changes.
Medications will only be prescribed if they are safe and appropriate for you.

Other Support
– NHS Digital Weight Management Programme: 12-week online support for those with obesity and diabetes or hypertension.
– Local weight services: Available in each borough via GP referral.
– NHS Talking Therapies: For mental health and wellbeing support.
